November 25th, 2011 by Charity

I cannot believe how long it has been since I have blogged. Argh Im frustrated I didn’t take the time to do it, because I sure do love reading all the stories and having all these memories down. We just celebrated Thanksgiving one of my favorite Holidays. I love getting together with family. I am so grateful for all my many blessings. Very short post but this is just the start because I really am going to work harder at blogging more. :) Goodnight

So Grateful

Many of you probably know that I fell and sprained my foot and messed up some ligaments. Argh! I have been in a big annoying boot and have crutches and I cannot drive! Needless to say I have been going a little crazy. However through all of this I am so amazed at all the people who are willing to help out. There is no way I would be able to get through my days without all the help I have been getting. I can’t drive the kids to school, go shopping, etc. Every morning bright and early my amazing neighbor “grandma” Judy comes over helps with the kids and takes them all to school, my stellar husband goes into work early so he can come home in time to pick the kids from school, my awesome friends drive me places or pick things up from the store for me and make us dinner! I have not needed to cook since this has happened! wow huh? I have tons of people calling to see what they can do to help or if I need to get out of the house. I also have my wonderful sister who was with me when it happened drive me to the doctor and only run into a wall once with the wheelchair :) and drive me up to Point to meet Todd. There are so many others who have been extremely helpful and I just want to make sure you all realize how much this means to me. Thank You, Thank You I am truly blessed. Im hoping that I will be able to get out of this boot soon and start driving.

Christmas Eve

December 30th, 2010 by Charity

Hmm well this sure has been a wonderful and interesting Christmas break. Christmas eve we had a fun family day. We went to the movie Tangled (which I recommend)  and exchanged a few gifts. Calvie had a bit of a breakdown I think lack of sleep and excitement had a lot to do with it. Anyway we had a rough evening due to lots of tantrums and arguing. Ollie has been watching Dora’s Christmas and kept telling all of us we were on the naughty list and every so often would tell us we were off it. That night pretty much all the kids went to bed crying. It was not a good evening. I checked in on Monty, I could hear him crying when I asked him what was wrong he said he was afraid Calvin was on the naughty list instead of talking with Monty in my anger I said, “yes he probably is on it”. That morning at 2:00 I heard footsteps upstairs I knew it was Monty. In the morning when we all got up Monty was sleeping on the recliner and he excitedly waved me over to him and this is what he saidMonty: Mom, Santa brought Calvin and I presentsMe: Oh goodMonty: Do you know why he did? Mom it was because I prayed all night that Calvin would get off the naughty list and then I even prayed that I would go on the naughty list so Calvin could get off it. I woke up and saw presents under the tree and there were 4 for everyone except me I only had 2. I knew that was cuz I prayed that Calvin would get presents and that he could even have mine. So its ok that I only have 2 I am just happy we all got presents. When we started the present opening the kids found 2 more presents for Monty under the tree and Monty had a huge smile on his face. He just didn’t see them earlier. It made me smile and all warm inside to see that even though they argue and don’t always get along they still really love one another. I had to record this so I can remember it and when I am frustrated they are fighting I can read this post :)

Pockets and Polka Dots

December 7th, 2010 by Todd

Introducing Pockets and Polka Dots!  Charity had been after me for a while to build her a website where she can sell the wool mittens that she makes.  I finally finished it.  Only 2 months behind (better than a typical IT Project), but not over budget! Check it out at it with your friends, tell your co-workers, put up a billboard.  In addition to mittens, she’ll be selling hair bows that her and her sister have made.  We’ll even get some warm winter hats out there that her friend makes.  Check back often because she’ll keep adding more stuff as she makes it.

I’ll vouch for the site, and I know I’ve got more work to do, but it’s a start.  As for that name, you’ll just have to ask her.

Grandpa Ponczoch

December 6th, 2010 by Charity

Today my grandpa passed away with his wonderful wife by his side. What an amazing man. It was a bittersweet time for me. I am so grateful for all the time Grandpa had on this earth and am amazed at all his accomplishments but I am also so sad that it really happened and for the grief my grandma will be dealing with as well as his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and so on.My Grandpa and Grandma owned The Little Pink Restaurant in Wisconsin Rapids they did very well for themselves but must say that they would tell you their biggest accomplishments were their family. I definitely feel very blessed to be a part of the family I am. Family has always been a huge part of my grandparents life and it definitely shows. I look back at all the times we got together at the restaurant and how I just thought every family did that, it wasn’t until I got older that I realized how blessed I was and how close knit our family really was.I have so many memories of grandpa and his humorous ways. He had the best sayings and jokes and would be sure to go around to all the tables at the restaurant to tell his jokes. He had this sly little smile that makes me smile to just think of it. One memory I will never forget is when I would help out at the restaurant on Fridays. I would go around with my grandpa to deliver the delivery orders to the mill and he would tell me all sorts of stories. I gained a great appreciation for him and that time together. I will also never forget when he let me drive his car while I had my temps and I totally stalled the car and then couldn’t start it up again. For those of you who knew grandpa, you also know he had a temper and he let me have it that day, well ok if you know me you know if someone even raises their voice at me I cry :) Well I of course cried and stormed off into the restaurant feeling all sorry for myself. Grandpa came in and after awhile came over by me, he sat down and apologized and told me he loved me, his voice even cracked a little it really made me appreciate him even more  because that wasn’t a side of grandpa I was use to.Up until the day he passed he showed his great love for my grandma wanting her by his side at all times.I am proud to call him my grandpa! I love you grandpa!!!! Say hi to dad.

Ella’s Thankful For…

Crash into me

November 10th, 2010 by Todd

Charity had a tough day.  Look closely…

She got hit by a garbage truck.  Ollie’s door got hit.  He was a real trooper.  The window completely shattered all over him. Took him to the hospital, just minor scrapes.  He is pretty scared, though.  Didn’t want to go for a ride in the rental tonight because he was scared of the garbage truck.  The 1st thing he said after the crash was “Naughty Garbage truck, breaks car.”

Here’s the damage.  The picture isn’t so good.  It’s a picture of a picture from our phone.  Best we could do for now.

We were very fortunate that Charity swerved and avoided much of the force. The video came courtesy from one of the bar’s on the street.  They had a surveillance camera up that caught the entire thing.  Charity had our friend’s daughter (affectionately known as little Ela) in the car as well.  She smiled through the whole thing.  Very fortunate that no one was injured.  We count our blessings one by one.

Halloween Fun

November 8th, 2010 by Charity

Monty wanted to be a ninja again this year and at the last possible second Calvin decided he wanted to also. It was so cute I was getting him into his pumpkin costume when he said he wanted to be a ninja. Monty quickly ran into his room and came out with his old ninja costume. The two were inseparable the rest of the day. It was soo sweet

Ella had recently lost another tooth and that is when she decided to be the tooth fairy! It was a fun costume. (notice her toothbrush belt) Ollie was a dinosaur with of course Ella’s pink boots??!!
