A great day at the lake!

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

Today we had an excellent day at the lake. We went to big bass lake with a group of friends. My awesome friend Amy’s in-laws own a couple of cottages and let us use it for the day since no one was renting it. It was soooo much fun. The kids were able to kayak, swim, use paddle boats, go on a pontoon boat, eat yummy food and ice cream :) We spent the whole day there. It was so relaxing and fun. There were 4 moms and 14 kids! The water was sooo clean and clear I even let my kids do the kayaks and paddle boat by themself!

Ok so I wish I could share a ton more pics with you especially of the kids in the kayaks and paddle boat however I was getting out of the paddle boat and dropped my camera in the lake I didn’t even notice it until one of the boys found it at the bottom! I wanted to cry. Needless to say it looks as though I will be using my treadmill fund to buy a new camera because I cannot imagine not having a camera! I was so bummed.

Wausau Daily Herald

Monday, July 28th, 2008

So today we went to the pool and a guy from the Wausau Daily Herald came and was taking pics of Ollie he asked me for his name and age. He freaked me out saying there was most likely going to be a pic of Oliver and I (I would never be sharing this if there was a pic of me :) ) Anyway this is the picture that is on their website. Soo sweet :)

Take me out to the ball game…

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Monty was able to participate in a baseball camp which was given by the woodchucks. He had tons of fun. They had 5 different stations where the kids rotated to and learned different baseball techniques.

Here he is racing, he loved this one because he loves to run and let me tell you he is fast.

That night we were able to go see the Woodchucks play. We love going to the games but holy cow it was sooo packed. :)

Gavyn’s 1!

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Gavyn had his 1st birthday last week so Summer and Brad had a really nice birthday party for him. We had lots of fun swimming, paddle boating, eating and chatting.

Gavyn was covered in cake by the time he got done with it :).

Poison Ivy

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

Look at the mischievous boy in that picture! Oh yes that is my brother Zach I am next to him in the dance costume and then my sister, Summer. Well I decided I better fill you in on the poison ivy story that my mom and brother were referring to in my previous post (check comments). Amy is right I better tell. :)

As I recall my very mischievous brother, Zach always tried to get sweet innocent me into trouble. We were all fishing and he came up to me to show me some poison ivy he told me it was poison ivy, but was just trying to make me think it wasn’t if you know what I mean. I told him I didn’t believe him so he told me to rub it all over my face, legs and arms. Needless to say I couldn’t go to school the next day because I was covered from head to toe. He thought it was hysterical especially since he was able to say he told me so! Now take into mind that this is the same boy who threw rotten eggs at me. I couldn’t get the smell out, I used a whole bottle of Pantene on my hair and I still couldn’t get it out. To this day I cannot use pantene.

Marble jar

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

Well we have marble jars at home for Monty and Ella. When we catch them doing something good or they do their chores without being reminded or go to bed good then they get some marbles, however if they are being naughty they have to take marbles out and once it is full they get to pick out a toy from the $ store. We went to the $ store to look around and they wanted some stuff I decided they could each pick out something but couldn’t get it until their marble jar was full. This morning was the big day!! Last night they went to bed good and after many weeks their marble jars were full!!!!! Monty had picked out knight stuff and Ella picked out a little polly pocket type doll that had a stamp pad (she thought it was makeup). Calvin and her went to go play with her doll and she came out super excited to show me her “makeup”.

Do yo think we can get it off? Oh no. She has swim lessons today and I am now going to go try and remove it with baby oil.

Calvin is also full of this except its on his arms and legs and they also decided that Ollie needed a little. Actually Calvin did while I was trying to clean Ella up. Needless to say the ink is gone!

Swimming Lessons

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

Monty and Ella are in swimming lessons this summer. They are 3 weeks long for an hour everyday (except weekends). I cannot believe how comfortable Ella has gotten in the water. Monty has always been a little fish but now Ella is too. While Monty and Ella are in their lessons we get to hang out in the little pool with Calvin and Ollie so they can get wet too. It is a lot of fun.

Here’s Monty jumping off the diving board.

Ella didn’t think twice about it she just jumped right off!

Row Row Row your boat!

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

Our friends from church had us over for a cookout and boat ride a couple of weeks ago. Boy was it fun. The kids absolutely loved it and Calvin who was terrified at first of going on the boat keeps saying, “boat ride mama boat ride.” Monty and Ella were able to go in the kayaks with Emma and Ian.

I was a bit nervous at first, but Ian was so good at kayaking!

Emma even let Ella try it.

It was a great day, great company, food, weather and fun!!!!

And the winners are…….
