Oliver is 1

Monday, October 27th, 2008

On October 17 Oliver turned 1. Man I cannot believe how fast this year has gone. Oliver is such a wonderful addition to our family. He is a very easy going baby (has to be in this house :)) It doesn’t seem to phase him when Calvie falls on top of him or pushes him over. Ollie is a little cuddle bug and loves to be by his mama :)  Monty wanted to pick out his cake this year so I let him I was not thinking…

It was a water scene with fish and all that but it had bright blue frosting.

Ollie absolutely loved the cake.

This is why you don’t give your 1 year old cake with blue frosting!!!!

Happy Birthday Oliver. We love you and are so happy you are in our family. What a blessing you are!

Hard times

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

Well we are preparing for tomorrow. Tomorrow we are taking dad off all the breathing tubes and everything he is going to be in a private room where we can all sit with  him until he passes.

This stinks!!!

Another update

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Well we have been here all day again and it just doesn’t look good. As much as we want to think things are going to be alright I think we all kind of know they aren’t. We should be meeting with the Dr. tonight and looks like we may be talking about our options. The last 2 times I was able to go back dad just kept his eyes open and they would roll in the back of his head. Prayers still greatly appreciated.

Marshfield Hospital

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

Well we are here in Marshfield again and found out some great news. Dad does have brain activity which is outstanding. He also is not having seizures it is just a side effect of the surgery. I was able to talk with him for a while and he even opened his eyes. I know he can hear me. He has a very long road ahead of him but if you know my dad you  know he can do it. He amazes me everyday. Granted this is very grim but I have a lot of hope. I am going to be coming up to the hospital as often as I can. My mom doesn’t want to leave and she really needs us for support. We are all doing all that we can to help out. I am soooo grateful for all our friends and family that have been helping us all out. Thank you sooo much for all your support.

More hospital stuff

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

Well it has been a tough couple of days. Dad did great with the surgery but things seem to have taken a turn for the worse. He had a cardiac arrest last night and was dead for 20-35 minutes. They were able to revive him broke all his ribs in the process and are going to do tests for brain damage as soon as they are able to. He is a fighter though that is for-sure. We are not giving up hope. He has a breathing tube in and is not able to respond to anything. Please please keep him and my mom in your prayers.
