Never fall asleep when your kids are awake because….

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

this could happen to you. I was playing with the kids on Sunday after church when I decided to lay in Monty’s bed because they were playing soo nice. I fell asleep (Todd was gone). I woke up and there weren’t any kids around, at first I didn’t think too much of it until I heard little feet running around upstairs and lots of whispering. I knew Ollie was napping so I wasn’t too worried. I ran upstairs and the kids came over to greet me with big smiles and so much excitment bottled up inside their tiny bodies. They very excitedly said, “Mom look we decorated for Christmas”. I looked around and they had a lot of our Christmas decorations out they were out in the garage digging through boxes to get xmas stuff out. They put it throughout the house in very interesting places and only broke 2 things in the process. They were so excited and proud of themselves I had to act excited too.

I was so happy that I didn’t get upset and was thinking how sweet it was that they were sooo excited and its ok if its before Thanksgiving we can put decorations up a little early (our little tradition we usually don’t put stuff out until after Thanksgiving). AND THEN they said,

Kids: ¬†”Mom you are going to be so surprised we even made a cake for Santa”

Me: What???

K: Come look mom we all made it together (again very proud of themselves)

I walk into the kitchen to find chairs in there with a tupperware container full of a disgusting mixture that I did take a picture of but cannot post because it does look so disgusting. They used water, 2 eggs, peanuts, and sprinkles and they cooked it in the microwave.¬† I really had to contain myself this time but very happily told them what a great idea except when a grownup isn’t there to help. We had a little talk about safety and I know why I cannot sleep when my kids are not.

Our little Rhino!

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Here is our little Ollie pop as a rhino for halloween. Thanks to Amy R. all my kiddos were able to wear this adorable halloween costume! I just love it and it fit Ollie especially well with all his little rolls. Calvie wore that last year too. Those two are almost wearing the same size clothes now!

Zach & Kristi’s wedding

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

I sure have a lot of catching up to do. So I decided I better get going on it. Well Zach and Kristi were married on October 24, which is also parents 38th wedding anniversary. Pretty neat huh? Well we were fortunate to have Kristi spend the night at our house the night before and she had Ella paint her nails for the wedding. Yep you read that right! :)

We woke up in the morning to rain. Here is Kristi looking out the window at the rain. I told her not to worry because it rained for Todd and I and heck look how great we have it. :)

Next it was time for makeup and since Kristi is a makeup artist she did her own. But I must add look at those eyelashes!! I put those on for her. She also did my makeup and eyelashes that day. It was lots of fun.

Then we were off to the salon to get our hair done. Oh isn’t she soo pretty! After all of this we drove to MN to go to the temple for the wedding. When we got there it wasn’t raining and we were able to meet Kristi’s family. It was very fun and nice. The wedding was beautiful.

Here comes Mr. & Mrs. S. Don’t they look cute. It was a very nice day. Then the next day we had a reception at the church in Rapids.

Here is Ella and Saylea at the reception. Aunty Bea did their makeup for them! They were so excited. :) Ella thinks lipgloss is the best thing ever.

We are sooo happy to have Kristi as part of the family. Yeah!!!

Another tag!

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

I got tagged by Amy. The instructions are to post the fourth picture in the fourth folder of your picture files. Tell us about the picture. Tag a friend or two.

Sadly I don’t remember this picture very well, but I guess in a way thats a good thing too it just means I take a ton of pictures. Anyway here is Monty and Ella. Monty was 3 just before he would have gotten his glasses. I see yummy pour over cheddar popcorn on the table. I was on a popcorn kick for awhile especially the pour over cheddar. However I do not eat it anymore (except when I am pregnant) It tastes so dang good because it is so not good for you :)

I tag you! Or shall I say anyone that would like to participate.

Well Ella could not wait to go vote and Monty was so upset that he couldn’t go with us to vote even though I told him he got to vote at school. All morning Ella kept asking if we could go voting. Finally we went around 10:30. She got into the van super excited and when we were driving down the road she said, “Dad can I paddle first?” Needless to say she was not very happy about our voting experience.

Don’t forget to vote!!!
