Ella was thrilled to get the doll she wanted for Christmas and unbelievably Aunty Kari had given her the same dress she would be receiving with her doll that next week. :)

She loves dressing her doll and playing with her it was so much fun. She thought it was the best thing in the world because Mom and Dad told her she couldn’t have an American Girl until she was 8 and Santa got her one!!! (Little does she know she didn’t actually get the big one she got one of the bitty twins and they are made for 3 and up)

Xmas fun in Oshkosh

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Every year we get together in Oskosh with Aunty Kari and Nana and Papa. They are so wonderful and let us find a date that works for all of us so that we can still get together with my side of the family on xmas day! (so nice) We have a wonderful time, lots of food, fun and presents!!!

Here is Nana with the kiddos and Thoven who loves to play with the kids he gets very excited. Nala is much calmer and will usually sit back and watch while Thoven has to be right in there. The kids love it.

Here’s Papa he puts on that fun outfit to pass out his gifts :) The kids absolutely love it. Here is our attempt at getting all the kids together. :)

Santa and his reindeer. :)  For each one of the kids first Christmas or in some cases 2nd xmas they wear that reindeer outfit that Nana and Papa got Monty. So I have pictures of all the kiddos in it. It was a close call this year since Ollie is so much bigger than all the other kids were that outfit is super short on him and quite tight.

Yes Charity, there is a Santa Claus…

Man was I ever surprised and humbled when yesterday I recieved an awesome gift card to get my hair done in the mail. It came from “Santa’s Helper” I couldn’t believe how it made me feel I started to cry right away. I was sooo touched. It then made me think of how every year Todd and I pick out someone or a family to surprise with gifts or money or a gift card and it is then when I realized we didn’t do that this year. What??? I was super sad we always do that. I could make a ton of excuses why we didn’t do it but I won’t and I must say I will NEVER let that happen again. If we make people feel the way I did yesterday then I will be truly satisfied. Today we decided to do some service for some people so our whole family went to do it and boy did I feel great the entire time. What a wonderful time of the year. Just a side note the whole giving to a family or person secretly is from my dad. We use to always do that growing up even though we didn’t have much we always gave to others and it made us learn the importance of it. This is a great but very hard Xmas without my dad and I am really struggling with it, but we are able to take many of the traditions we had and carry them down to our family. Tonight we will eat pizza and open a gift from one another. Anyway I will stop my rambling and just be grateful for all our loved ones.  AND thank you THANK YOU for whomever gave me that gift certificate I hope you know how much it meant and touched me.

We may not have it all together but together we have it all

Calvin’s 3!!

Monday, December 15th, 2008

I still can’t believe my little Calvie is 3 already. I decided to save some $ and make his birthday cake ok that will never happen again. It was disgusting. I ended up throwing it out and I couldn’t find the little Elmo characters I bought to add to it. Although he didn’t seem to mind. :)

Calvin is such a little joy. He is such a sweet little boy who loves to hug. He just loves anyone who is smaller than him. He has this awesome little smile that is also very mischevious! We just love that little tyke.

Ella sleeping

Monday, December 15th, 2008

Ella is  a little stinker she had trouble going to bed after a very long time she fell asleep and I went in her room to make sure she was all covered up and to turn out her lights and this is what I walked into..

Yes that is Ella sleeping on her bed in a little doll cradle. She was covered up with a towel? All her blankets were on the floor and she had her pillowcase off her pillow and she was totally out. What a little nut.

Christmas tree fun

Monday, December 15th, 2008

We went to get our Christmas tree it was so fun. The kids love picking out the tree and they even have horses there on the weekends that the kids can ride.

Monty loves horses so I think this was his favorite part!

This is the tree Ella wanted :)

Calvie enjoyed riding in the sled.

Ollie just looked so dang cute all bundled up! He loved walking around in the snow.

This was the tree we chose! I took the two little ones to the car while Todd, Monty, and Ella cut it down. It was a cold blustery day.

We were so excited because last year at the end of the year we ordered the angel moroni tree topper. Well needless to say we are not able to use it as a tree topper!

I love all these great memories we are making. I will never forget the times we would go searching for our Christmas tree when I was little.

Dora and Diego

Monday, December 15th, 2008

Calvie and I were able to go visit Dora and Diego at the mall. The older kids were at school and Ollie was sleeping at home while Daddy was working (he works from home). Anyway it was such a nice little date :). The line was horrendous, but Calvin wanted to stay so we did and he was so excited. He went right up to them and held their hands. It was so cute.

Aren’t they huge?

St. Nick’s Day

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

Well the kiddos have been talking about St. Nick’s day all week. Last night was the big night. We tucked the kids all into bed and were looking forward to sleeping in because it would be Saturday and we planned a nice relaxing morning. Well the kids came running in our room this morning super excited because St. Nick did come and they were so excited to show us all their goodies. Monty couldn’t stop talking and explaining how he exchanged his webkinz with Ollie’s and his book with Calvin. They could barely stand the excitement. Ella was showing me all the things her new webkinz could do and Calvin was happily eating the yummy candy. I turned over to look at the time and had to look a couple of times because the clock read 3:00!!!!! Oh man what are we going to do on Christmas? Holy cow. Needless to say we sent all the kids back to bed (ok actually they all stayed in our bed) and slept a few more hours looks like we will be having a family naptime today. This reminds me of my sister Summer who couldn’t sleep on these nights and would wake all of us super early on Christmas morning. I guess we are creating memories huh? :)
