Easter dress

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

Ok I am sooo excited I just finished making Ella’s Easter dress and I even made her doll a matching one too! I forgot to take a picture of her doll’s new dress but I will. My great friend Amy came over today and showed me a few little tricks and how to make the dress correctly and I must say I am sooo excited. I just love it. Yeah!

Ok so I mixed it up a little and I used 2 different fabrics and I used ribbons this time for the straps.

Ella was pretty excited too. Ok I will stop bragging now its just that I honestly stink at sewing (super easy pattern) and I just wish I would have done this a little earlier because who know how long Ella will let me make her dresses. :)

I made a dress!!!!

Yeppers its true!!! I can’t believe it myself. Ok so I must tell you I stink at sewing and especially following the directions. However some friends of mine keep talking about making outfits for their girls so I thought heck I can do it,well I bought a pattern and some material (Ella picked out).  Right away I messed it up because I didn’t understand the pattern. I cut out all the pieces and then I was totally lost so I just put it together however I wanted and I think it turned out pretty good, you just can’t look close at it :)

mom.jpg

So yes it has been quite awhile since my mom’s birthday but I wanted to make sure and let her know how much she means to all of us. What an amazing woman. My mom has always been there for us kids she has always put us first. I can remember sitting at the kitchen table playing with warm playdough mom just finished making, it was the best. She would read us stories at night and was always coming up with clever things for us to do. She never cared if we got dirty as long as we were having fun, well and we weren’t on our way to church :) We would play out in the mud puddles and creek all the time. She also could make amazing things like whip together bookshelves or fix stuff around the house. Mom is very sensitive and was sure to put others first especially my dad. She was an awesome wife and dad was sure to let everyone know. She was sooooo patient with dad and would take care of all his bandages and owies that let me tell you I don’t think I could ever do. She was taught how to do all his dialysis stuff so she would hook him up at nights and take him off the machine. I can’t believe all the things she would do.

My mom always finds the positive in everyone it amazes me. I strive to be more like my mom daily. What an amazing woman.

Monty’s birthday party

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

Well this year I let Monty have a kid birthday party at our house. He was so excited. He has had a very rough crazy couple of weeks. He switched schools and it was very hard on all of us. So whenever he would get nervous he would talk about his party he was going to have. It really helped with all of the change.

It was a success. All the kids were so good and Monty was so excited. After each present he opened he would yell, “Thats my favorite thanks so much” Then after he opened all the presents he ran around and hugged every kid. It was very sweet. I still can’t believe that on Tuesday our little Monty is going to be 7!!!!

Here’s a pic of Monty when he got his glasses and little Calvie with his new glasses. However I just ordered new glasses for Calvin that should actually fit him and not be so big! Calvin is doing a really good job keeping his glasses on. Monty also did very well when he got his glasses we are very lucky.

Ollie loves to play with light sabers and he is actually really good at using them. It is pretty funny.

Here’s Miss Ella all ready to go to mother’s night at her school. She was able to show me all around and do some “works” for me. It was a lot of fun and especially fun having a little date with Ella!

Here she is doing the finger painting I think this is her favorite for that week anyway :) After spending time at school Ella and I went shopping at TJ Maxx and then out for ice cream. We had a great time.

I’m Back

…finally!!!

Things have just been so hectic around here I am hoping to get back on track and start blogging more. I wish I could say we are all feeling better but that is just not the case. Ollie is not feeling well he was into the doctor today because we thought he was dehydrated. He is still ok but needs to sip pedialyte. I am so glad he likes to drink it. Found out he has the roto virus.

Ok so I wrote this at the beginning of the week and now things are all going well. We are busy with Monty’s bday party today so I will be sure to post lots of pics :) soon. I promise to get back on track. :)

My Barfday oops I mean Birthday :)

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

So yesterday the 3rd I had a wonderful birthday until about 7:00 last night. We just got home from dinner and Target when I could barely get out of the van fast enought to vomit. Oh yes we then came in and got kids in bed and I laid in bed too watching tv when I needed to get up and do it again. Then Monty came in our room and said, “This is so disgusting Ella just did it in my bed”. Needless to say she only did a tiny amount in his bed and ran up to do it in the bathroom EVERYWHERE. Im talking sink mirror, tub, floor, toilet you name it. I went to her and she was a real trooper saying she was ok. I went to put her in the bath and looked up and Calvie was standing at the door covered in it I yelled for Todd and Monty being nosey (like me) ran up and slipped in it across the dining room floor. Calvin had gotten it everywhere well I laid in bed while Todd cleaned it all up and bathed all the kids. Todd was making gagging noises and saying he was not cut out to do all of that but was a trooper and did it all. I figured we all got food poisoning, but now I am thinking it is the flu. Todd was just finishing up when I jumped out of bed to run to the bathroom and yelled to Todd, “Get a bucket” needless to say I didn’t make it either and our freshly scrubbed bathroom floors were once again covered thats when Todd threw me the bucket and said, “I can’t do this anymore” I just laughed because Todd was utterly disgusted. I ended up cleaning everything up and disinfecting our whole house. Well Calvin came into bed with us a little while ago and I couldn’t sleep so I got up to get a drink and Calvin came running out because he wanted one too then he showed me the couch he was sleeping on YEPPERS it is covered in it. I came downstairs to get him new Pjs and there is Ella on the family room floor because oh yes you guessed it her bed is also covered in it and she just got up on her own changed her pjs and laid on the floor. Oh man this should make for an exciting day :) Anyway sorry to gross you all out.

We had a virus on our computer so I couldn’t blog for my moms bday, but plan to later today. :)
