Happy Happy Birthday Todd, Dad and Mom!

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Whew that was a mouthful. In January we celebrate Todd’s bday on the 29 my dads on the 30th and my mom’s on the 31! Todd and I were able to go out on a super date thanks to some great friends from church, who came over here, brought their wii’s  and played wii with our kiddos. Our kids cannot stop talking about it.

Today we went to my mom’s to celebrate with her. Because it was actually my dad’s birthday my mom surprised all of us with these super neat teddy bears that were all made out of my dad’s shirts!!! Oh man it was so great. Then she sprayed them all with my dad’s cologne (obsession) As soon as I got a whiff of that dang bear the water works started. What a special treasure. Mom also made each one of us a book about my dad. There are pictures, copies of his medical records, his eulogy, a talk from his funeral and more! I couldn’t look through the whole thing yet but man it is absolutely amazing so far.

Here are the bears. Each family has an unique bear with a story. So sweet

What a wonderful time of the year.

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

I absolutely love the holidays. The best part is being with family. Todd and I are so blessed to have such a wonderful family.

Getting our Christmas tree was the best this year! The kids were able to each pick out their own trees for their rooms which they thought was the best. We were able to spend time with loved ones. I would have to say the tree we got  was my all time favorite. Thanks so much to Poppy and Gma Judy! We were also able to listen to the kids sing in different Christmas concerts that always makes me happy and we were able to tell Christmas stories.

Then we were able to celebrate Christmas with the Gasalls. We always have so much fun. We are ever so grateful for them always accomadating our schedules so we can all get together before the Holidays so it doesn’t interfere with other gatherings. Man I cannot tell you how wonderful that is. We especially love our tradition because it involves a whole weekend of being together in the same place. We are creating the best memories. Thanks so much for EVERYTHING.

Then on Christmas day it is Christmas at my brothers which is always tons of fun too. We listen to the Christmas story my dad use to always read it before gifts now it has been passed down to my brothers. We put on a little show type thingy. My dad use to always have us “perform” to our grandparents before we could open gifts whether it be act out the Christmas story, sing or play a musical instrument. This was fun when we were little however when we were in high school and dad still made us do it in front of our cousins mind you it was not always so fun. :) In memory of dad we decided to do this every year and let me tell you it is soo fun. I was so amazed with all the creative juices!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!
