St. Nick’s Day

Well the kiddos have been talking about St. Nick’s day all week. Last night was the big night. We tucked the kids all into bed and were looking forward to sleeping in because it would be Saturday and we planned a nice relaxing morning. Well the kids came running in our room this morning super excited because St. Nick did come and they were so excited to show us all their goodies. Monty couldn’t stop talking and explaining how he exchanged his webkinz with Ollie’s and his book with Calvin. They could barely stand the excitement. Ella was showing me all the things her new webkinz could do and Calvin was happily eating the yummy candy. I turned over to look at the time and had to look a couple of times because the clock read 3:00!!!!! Oh man what are we going to do on Christmas? Holy cow. Needless to say we sent all the kids back to bed (ok actually they all stayed in our bed) and slept a few more hours looks like we will be having a family naptime today. This reminds me of my sister Summer who couldn’t sleep on these nights and would wake all of us super early on Christmas morning. I guess we are creating memories huh? :)

The only problem is the memories will be fuzzy because everyone was too sleepy!

    Charity,
It has been so fun catching up and reading about the family! They are such cute kids. I wish I could know them a little better. I’m sorry to hear about your dad. You guys were very close I remember.
    Love,
    Sarah

That’s reminds me of when Carl and I were little. Even when we were teenagers we still woke up our parents at 4am to open presents. Although I think our Dad was trying to wake us up, by peaking in our rooms when he went to the bathroom, and purposefully banging doors and clearing his throat.

St. Nick forgot our house again this year. We only ever saw Father Christmas when I was a kid, so it’s hard to remember the tradition of St. Nick.

Ah yes, I remember those days — but tell me doesn’t it bring joy to your being to be able to experience the excitement — it does to mine to heard about it in your family now. Memories the joy they can bring.

Yes, I love the excitement too. I remember how excited I’d get at Christmastime. I think this year will be the most fun so far for the kids. But I did not grow up celebrating St. Nick’s Day. I only heard about it when we moved up here. So far, the kids have not caught on to it!
