Will Ella wear this?

gouchos.jpg

Ok so its not a skirt or a dress, but there are ruffles. I just finished making this and am hoping Ella will wear it. My friend, Amy use to buy, but now makes these capris/gouchos for her daughter, Bella and I think they are the cutest so today I went to a new sewing store and bought the fabric and thanks to Amy was able to whip these up tonight. Then I took a white shirt and cut out flowers from the material and attached them to the shirt. That was my trickiest part I am NOT good at that I thought I would be able to just zig zag it on boy was I wrong. I had to rip it out 3x before I said forget it and now I am just leaving it how it is. My friend, Sue made it sound so easy when she did her daughters shirts either I don’t know what I am doing or just didn’t understand. :)  I then decided to make a matching hair bow. Yes I am a dork these things really get me excited so instead of waking up my family to tell them I decided to blog about it. I did however go and measure Ella while she was sleeping so hopefully it will fit. :)

That is adorable! She better wear it! As for the flowers on the shirt…did you use that iron-on stuff (http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat2848&PRODID=prd2981)?

“Wonder under” keeps the cut out pieces stuck to the shirt. Then they are attached there pretty good so you can just stitch around. Maybe that is what Sue is talking about. The outfit is really cute. If she won’t wear it I guess you’ll just have to cut out the inseams and sew the legs together. Oh! But of course she would want to wear something that cute! I’ve measured my kids when they were asleep before. And laid the finished project across their sleeping bodies, carefully arranging to make it look like they were dressed.

It’s lovely! Such a talented lady. I’m sure that Ella will wear this. Especially if she has matching accessories. What about a matching coin purse?

I think it is really cute. I hope she will wear it. But you know I think alot of Emma’s clothes are cute and she will only wear certain ones. It is a daily battle with us. Great job though! I was at the store the other day looking at patterns and I thought there is no way I can do this, Maybe someday!!
