Crash into me

Charity had a tough day.  Look closely…

She got hit by a garbage truck.  Ollie’s door got hit.  He was a real trooper.  The window completely shattered all over him. Took him to the hospital, just minor scrapes.  He is pretty scared, though.  Didn’t want to go for a ride in the rental tonight because he was scared of the garbage truck.  The 1st thing he said after the crash was “Naughty Garbage truck, breaks car.”

Here’s the damage.  The picture isn’t so good.  It’s a picture of a picture from our phone.  Best we could do for now.

We were very fortunate that Charity swerved and avoided much of the force. The video came courtesy from one of the bar’s on the street.  They had a surveillance camera up that caught the entire thing.  Charity had our friend’s daughter (affectionately known as little Ela) in the car as well.  She smiled through the whole thing.  Very fortunate that no one was injured.  We count our blessings one by one.

God’s hand guided yours for that swerve to lessen the impact and placed that camera on that building to witness the truth of your accident. He continues to watch over and heal you and yours after this traumatic incident.

I give thanks to the God who kept you all safe.

    Blessed by your friendship,

Okay, so that accident was NOT funny at all - but why on earth was I laughing at Todd’s illustrations in the video?? You scared the daylights out of me - and I’m totally thankful that you were able to move even slightly out of the way. You seriously saved little Ollie’s life with that move! Hope the recovery and vehicle repair goes swiftly for you guys!!

Hi Charity, I watched the video this morning. Oh, girl, you run fast around that van to check on Ollie and little Ela! We are so grateful everyone’s ok.

I know your heart must have been up in your throat with panic, so scary - I’ve watched it several times and can’t believe it. I’m so thankful you all were protected and that you have amazingly quick reflexes! Wow, in between dodging the dump truck and running for the kids, I’ll remember to let you drive when we’re together. Give that Ollie a hug for me.

Thank goodness little Ollie and the rest of the family are okay……….very scary stuff. Hugs to the little troopers and hope all works well with the van repairs.
See you later today, the kids are so excited here!

That video–wow. I appreciated Todd’s editing so I could really see it, what a scary experience! I can’t even imagine–I’m counting the blessings with you–SO GLAD that everyone is ok.

Hope the fixing of your van gets done quickly and with as little hassle as possible–and that Ollie is able to forget the fear….and Mama too. Wow.

All I can say is that I think that you had angels among you, a particular angel who is always watching over you and protecting you and loving you dearly.
